Lesson 4:
Scurvygrass and Wolfsbane

Plant Classification: XXX-XXXXX
Aconite [Wolfsbane or Monkshood] is a very dangerous plant and that is why it gets the classification written above. Even one lick of the plant and you could die. It was given the name wolfsbane in light of the potion that shares its name.
These are handsome plants, the tall, erect stem being crowned by racemes of large and eye-catching blue, purple, white, yellow or pink zygomorphic flowers with numerous stamens. These herbaceous perennial plants are chiefly natives of the mountainous parts of the northern hemisphere, growing in moisture retentive but well draining soils on mountain meadows.
The plant can also eat away at skin if just right after a rainstorm. It grows back at a very rapid rate and the only way to get rid of them is through slug removal.
Wolfsbane shouldn't be used for anything. It isn't recommended to be used for anything because of how dangerous it is!

Plant Classification: X-XX
The Scurvygrass isn't very widely known. They are widely distributed in temperate and arctic areas of the northern hemisphere, most commonly found in coastal regions, on cliff-tops and salt marshes where their high tolerance of salt enables them to avoid competition from larger, but less salt-tolerant plants; they also occur in alpine habitats in mountains and tundra.
The Scurvygrass is interesting. Back in the old days, it was used by sailors to cure scurvy. However it has been stated that the plant is most efficacious in the inflaming of the brain, and [is] therefore much used in Confusing and Befuddlement Draughts, where the wizard is desirous of producing hot-headedness and recklessness.
The plant can only be eaten raw to experience the true power of the plant. If you boil or cut it down, it doesn't have the same effect.
Scurvygrass is only effective when eaten whole and raw. The plant can be used if you need to confuse someone on the spot and you don't have time to work on a potion. You can cultivate it and make it into a calming tea.
